SmartThings Pro provides a unified view of building operations, showing real-time data on device status, energy consumption, and operational trends across multiple zones and locations (1). Site management can be done off-site, enabling more streamlined operations (2). The dashboard offers at-a-glance visibility into performance indicators such as utilization rate, heating/cooling mode, and maintenance status (3). Faults and warnings are flagged proactively, enabling quicker response and minimizing downtime.

This visibility is enhanced by a highly customizable dashboard, where users can configure widgets based on their operational needs (4). Devices installed at field sites can be monitored and controlled remotely through an interactive 3D floorplan that makes it easier to manage spatial planning and system operations (5).

AI-based intelligence for measurable savings

SmartThings Pro goes beyond monitoring by applying intelligent algorithms to improve energy performance. One such feature is Pricing Response Control (PRC), which adjusts HVAC operations based on fluctuating energy prices. By preheating or precooling the rooms during off-peak hours, the system could help reduce costs without sacrificing comfort.

The platform also detects wasteful usage patterns, for instance, by identifying rooms being cooled while unoccupied, or devices running while windows are open (6). Additionally, facility managers can gain granular insight into energy consumption per device or zone by integrating compatible energy meters (7).

Data-driven decisions with ai-supported reporting

Facility managers looking to turn insights into action can use SmartThings Pro’s built-in reporting features to track energy usage and device behavior per site. A beta version of the AI Report provides weekly summaries based on seven-day usage trends, helping building teams make evidence-based decisions (8)/(9). These reports highlight opportunities for further optimization and support a more proactive approach to energy management.

Automated control that adapts to your business

The platform includes flexible scheduling tools that allow devices to be programmed based on time, usage conditions, or customized logic scenarios. Whether it’s turning off equipment outside business hours or adjusting ventilation during peak occupancy, these rules are easy to set up — and can be refined as operational needs change. For advanced users, a cloud-based logic editor based on Node Red allows the creation of automated flows using a visual interface (10)/(11).
