Every kg of carbon counts, footprint of food retailer

Session Synopsis:

* Carbon emissions of own operations (supply chain, logistics, transport, and company-operated stores) and energy used are the tip of the iceberg (Science Based Targets, scope 1) for a food retailer;

* Energy (Science Based Targets, scope 2): use less, buy green and produce your own (renewable);

* Carbon emissions (Science Based Targets, scope 3) from farm to fork (E2E) are the biggest challenge in food retail.

About David:

As director of the Architecture, Construction & Maintenance department BeLux David Schalenbourg is today  (since September 2015) responsible for reducing Delhaize's carbon footprint by building sustainable 'brick' infrastructure (stores, warehouses, production plants, and offices).  With a Master's in Architecture (Brussels, BE) combined with a Post-Master in Urban Planning (Paris, FR) and an international track record in sustainable building projects (residential, office, retail, ...) David aims for carbon positivity.

Prior to joining SAP, Speksnijder was a partner at McKinsey & Company, based out of Silicon Valley, California, for more than 15 years and in Amsterdam for 3+ years. Coralie Lannelongue-Luger is a Director in SAP’s MEE Value Advisory team, focusing on the Swiss market. In this role, she works closely with customers to quantify the business value of their SAP-driven digital transformations (#valuecase). She is also the co-author of the Whitepaper “Retail at a Crossroads. The Metaverse is Here to Stay. How can Retailers Survive and Thrive in This New Landscape?”  Prior to joining SAP, Ms. Lannelongue-Luger worked for Boston Consulting Group, AXIS Capital, and Bombardier.  Ms. Lannelongue-Luger holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
